The Pride of Detroit- Detroit Tigers (MLB 10:TS)

Postby Psymin1 » Sun Mar 07, 2010 12:43 am

Hey guys, this is going to be a very "micro", Micro DM on my MLB 10: The Show Detroit Tigers franchise. I probably won't play every game, but will try at least one per series (AT LEAST). I absolutely SUCK at The Show series, so don't expect too many wins. I am playing with DEFAULT GAME SETTINGS for the most part. Again, this will be very low key, and may not get updated a huge amount, but hopefully someone will be interested in following. I am not a huge baseball guy, so if you have any recommendations on lineups or anything, I would love to hear your opinions. Thanks! Alright, heeeeeere we go:

Starting Team: Detroit Tigers
Starting Year: 2010

Franchise Rank:
Batting- 18th
Pitching- 16th
Defense- 24th
Overall- 21st

Contract Goals:
1. Win PCT of at Least .420 at Contract End
2. Make 2 Playoff Appearances (0/2)
3. Draft 2 All-Star Potential Players (0/2)
4. Player Morale of 50% or Higher in 2 Seasons (0/2)
5. Team ERA of 4.20 or Lower in 3 Seasons (0/3)
6. 5 Game Winning Streak
7. Team BA of .230 or Higher in 3 Seasons (0/3)
8. 3 Players hit .270 or Higher in 2 Seasons (0/2)
9. Lead League in Ks (Individual)
10. Win 350 Games (0/350)

Detroit's Off-Season Transactions:
-Made some moves on my 40-man roster, but no big name players. All cleared waivers and are on one of the Detroit minor league teams.
-Brought up a rookie Second Baseman Huston Vilalona from AAA.
-Released Second Baseman Ramon Santiago
-Signed Second Baseman Felipe Lopez from Free Agency (5 yr/$25M)

Grapefruit League:
The Detroit Tigers had a rough start in the Grapefruit league, but some key players were getting hot early on, including the new Tiger Johnny Damon, veteran Detroiter Brandon Inge, Magglio Ordonez, and Miguel Cabrera. Justin Verlander also had an excellent preseason in the Grapefruit league. In this opening slump, however, catcher Gerald Laird (who struggled with the bat last season) found a home on the bench as Robinzon Diaz stepped in to replace him. The Tigers suffered no key injuries in Grapefruit League play.
