I can't believe he didn't come back in that National Championship Game, but I also don't know what the injury was besides seeing it once in a replay (I tuned in midway through the 1st qtr). Then again, he's got bigger and better things to look forward to... maybe it was smart to sit it out and cash in when he's drafted. The sports fan in me hates that, but the reality is, I can't blame him.
I don't think it's fair to call Colt McCoy soft because he didn't return with a shoulder injury to his throwing arm. The doctors probably told him, and the coaches that he can't play. I'm sure he tried to come back and play, but he wasn't allowed. This isn't professional football, and this guy has a bright future in front of him. He's going to have a chance of making millions. Does anyone know what happened to him? If it's a separated shoulder or dislocated shoulder, he can't throw the football.
Also, if his shoulder was hurt enough where if he had played, he would have hurt the team anyways, then he did the best thing for the team. Is he soft because he sat out instead of playing through a shoulder injury to his right arm, his throwing arm, knowing that playing would hurt the team more than help it? Sometimes, playing injured does more harm, and if McCoy played with his shoulder injury, I'm almost certain Texas would have had no shot at winning.
